News:
We finally have a date for Rise of the Resistance coming to Galaxy’s Edge: January 17th, 2020. This is 17 days past the promised deadline of “by the end of 2019.” Sources say the reason for the delay are issues with the trackless ride system. Once issues were discovered, they had to do quite a bit of re-working of the Disneyland version that was further along than the Disney World version that was barely constructed. Rise of the Resistance opens at Hollywood Studios in Disney World on December 5th. – https://www.micechat.com/230645-delayed-star-wars-rise-of-the-resistance/
The awesome Star Wars gift cards are back in stock in Galaxy’s Edge! They have also moved locations. If you want to pick one up, you have to load at least $100 on it at the Resistance Supply. – https://www.micechat.com/230685-disneyland-update-a-most-unusual-birthday/

From July 18th through August 1st, “Mickey and Friends Band-Tastic Cavalcade” will step off on the parade route. The cavalcade will feature the “Fab 5” of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto along with the Disneyland Band. This is scheduled as a fill in parade to bridge the gap between Mickey’s Soundsational Parade and the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade on August 2nd. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/07/mickey-and-friends-band-tastic-cavalcade-starts-limited-run-at-disneyland-park-july-18/
Halloweentime at the resort this year will take place mainly in Disney California Adventure, but a fan favorite is returning to Disneyland for all guests. The Halloween Screams fireworks will return each evening to Disneyland without the need for a Halloween party ticket. The fireworks will be enhanced on some nights throughout the season. For the first time, the traditional Halloween parties will be in DCA, dubbed the Oogie Boogie Bash. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/07/spooky-sights-and-dreadful-delights-this-halloween-season-at-disneyland-resort/
The Disney Parks Designer Collection has released designs for some of the upcoming, limited-release Mickey and Minnie ears! Lower than expected attendance at the resort has resulted in budget cuts. A lot of the cuts are things that the average day guest won’t notice, like cutting staffing and hours for some cast members. Other cuts, like the slimmed down Cavalcade instead of a full blown parade will be noticeable. – https://www.micechat.com/230685-disneyland-update-a-most-unusual-birthday/
With the addition of benches in the Main Street Cinema, it looks like guests have finally found this location! More and more guests are enjoying the shorts, air conditioning, and getting off their feet! It is exciting that this area that was largely forgotten previously has had some new life given to it. – https://www.micechat.com/230685-disneyland-update-a-most-unusual-birthday/
Even though the Pixar Pals Parking Garage is open, there’s still work being done. The resort added trees around the tram plaza. Across the way at Mickey and Friends, it looks like they’re adding a new elevator as well. – https://www.micechat.com/230685-disneyland-update-a-most-unusual-birthday/
As we discussed on the last episode, the new bar and grill at the Grand Californian has opened. It may be old news now, but since our last episode Southern California was rocked by some earthquakes. While nothing was damaged at Disneyland, the ride systems and well trained cast members responded accordingly and shut down the attractions for safety inspections. – https://www.micechat.com/230141-disneyland-resort-update-the-california-shake-shake-shake/
Something that made the news that we were asked to talk about by a listener is the fight that happened in Toontown on July 6th. The fight reportedly took place between a group of people reported to be from the same family. – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7gtoLmHd5w&has_verified=1
