News:

At New York Comic Con this weekend, Scot Drake, the Portfolio Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering talked a little bit more about the Avenger’s E-Ticket attraction coming to Avengers Campus in Phase 2. The attraction will lead guests into the headquarters and show off protection and technology that is offered by the Avengers. Guests then load into a Quinjet that will start the attraction. Something happens and the seats that the guests are in take them on an individual flight to create their origin story. Guests will then go to Wakanda where the individual seats holding the guests will join in on the epic battle taking place. When asked, this ride system was described as something “completely unique” that nobody has seen before. – https://blogmickey.com/2019/10/more-details-on-avengers-e-ticket-attraction-coming-to-avengers-campus-marvel-lands/

In a move that has confused and angered some Oogie Boogie Bash ticket holders, additional tickets were released last week for the remaining nights. Tickets were available on the phone only and still sold out very quickly. Scot from ConciEARS gave a possible explanation for the tickets in our supporter chat this week saying that it is common practice to hold some tickets for Disney Hotel guests in case they weren’t aware of the parties. With lighter hotel occupancy, some of the tickets re-entered the mix. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/12/boo-to-you-the-oogie-boogie-bash-has-released-additional-tickets-in-disney-california-adventure/

Halloween Time is in full swing, and the crowds have finally returned, at least they did this weekend! With the combination of Halloween and the three day weekend for a lot of guests, it created the perfect storm for a busy park. The park has not been this busy since the week before Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge premiered back at the end of May. Is this a sign of things getting back to normal? Maybe. Crowds since the weekend have been light again. – https://www.micechat.com/239457-disneyland-update-packed-huge-crowds-return-to-disneyland/

The Hatbox Ghost tiki mug has returned to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts! This time around, the color scheme is a little different and the resorts have swapped designs! Disneyland will have the head in the hatbox, and Disney World will have the head on his shoulders with an empty hatbox. The mugs, if they are still available, are sold at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto in the Polynesian Village Resort in Orlando, and Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar OR at the South Lounge of the Convention Center at the Disneyland Hotel. A beverage purchase is required to get the mug at Trader Sam’s. An ornament and pin matching the mug will also be on sale at Disney’s Fantasia Shop. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/14/hurry-back-the-hatbox-ghost-tiki-mug-is-re-materializing-in-disney-world-and-disneyland/

Starting on October 21st, reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance for Oga’s Cantina, Droid Depot, and Savi’s Workshop. Previously, the reservation window was limited to 14 days in advance. Reservations still require a credit card and brings these locations inline with the other reservation requirements around the resort. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/10/new-bites-and-60-day-advanced-reservations-coming-to-star-wars-galaxys-edge-at-disneyland-resort/

Starting today, there are even more food options in Batuu. Oga’s gains a new charcuterie plate called the Happabore Sampler, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo has a new Garden Patty Bun kids meal that includes a bao bun, roasted carrots, house sauce, and an orange. Ronto’s Roasters has a new Ronto-less garden wrap with includes a plant-based sausage, spicy kimchi slaw, sweet picked cucumber, and Gochjang spread on a pita. Kyryll Prk Rinds, which are served with cinnamon-sugar also join the menu. Kat Saka’s Kettle will have a chocolate popcorn with Crait Red Salt from the salt planet of Crait from The Last Jedi. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/10/new-bites-and-60-day-advanced-reservations-coming-to-star-wars-galaxys-edge-at-disneyland-resort/

As we reported previously, the mountains around parts of ToonTown have come down, exposing some of the backstage buildings to the skyline of the toon filled land. From ground level, the land doesn’t look too different, but a little higher up gives backstage views. This removal of the hills is to accommodate the construction for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. – https://www.micechat.com/239114-mickey-and-minnies-runaway-railroad-construction-begins/

A couple of construction projects have been on the radar of some guests, vloggers, and others recently in Tomorrowland. As of recording, the projects include a new guest staircase leading from ground level to the elevated queue deck at Space Mountain, the refurbishment (or replacement) of the decorative wall panels as you enter Tomorrowland on either Astro Blasters or Star Tours, and finally Fast Pass kiosks that will we discuss later on in the show. – https://www.micechat.com/239457-disneyland-update-packed-huge-crowds-return-to-disneyland/

Flying to Disneyland could be a little more magical with the help of Toy Story and Pixar Pier. Alaska Airlines has debuted their new plane wrap featuring the characters and themed area of DCA. The new plane is dubbed “Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort.” Buzz, Woody, Jessie, the Luxo ball, and the Pixar Pier marquee all appear on the design. Guests that get the chance to fly aboard may receive a Disneyland Resort Activity Fun Book and Kids’ Choice Picnic Pack. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/08/to-infinity-and-beyond-alaska-airlines-debuts-new-pixar-pier-plane-with-toy-story-pals/

This week Dancing with the Stars visited Disneyland. Monday night’s show featured an opening dance number on Main Street and in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Throughout the show, celebrities and their professional dance partners will be talking about their dance numbers while enjoying different areas of the park. The theme for this week was Disney Night. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/10/tune-in-tonight-for-the-biggest-dancing-with-the-stars-disney-night/

Most of you probably don’t even have your Halloween treats yet, and Disneyland is already talking about their Christmas treats! This year, the Crispy Snowman will be a new addition to the holiday offerings and will feature candy buttons, orange chocolate, and red and white sanding sugar. Churro Toffee, Snowman Cake Pops, Snowflake Cake Pops, Mrs. Claus Apple Minnie or Cake Pop, Peppermint Bark, Peppermint Marshmallow Wands, and more will be available this year. Of course, the ever popular Candy Canes will also be back at Trolley Treats and Candy Palace. Dates for those have not been announced. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/08/get-a-sneak-peek-at-the-christmas-treats-coming-to-disneyland-resort/

The Christmas tradition of the Candlelight Processional at Disneyland has dates for this year. The Orange County Register is reporting that Saturday, December 7th, and Sunday, December 8th are the dates for the 2019 season. In previous years, the processional started at 5:20 and 7:35pm each night. As we hear more about this years event, we will let you know! – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/11/its-here-the-candlelight-processional-ceremony-dates-have-been-announced-for-disneyland/

Our friends over at Fresh Baked on YouTube have reported on a rumor that the Matterhorn may be needing far more work than what was originally thought. Keep in mind this is just a rumor, but is worth noting that the interior of the mountain is constructed with a lot of wood that could need replacement. It is not clear what this means for the beloved attraction. Could it be refurbished with better materials, could it need a rebuild? If so, would Disney do that? – https://youtu.be/3VtogwmcGz0?t=607
