News:

Sunday, November 3rd will be Dapper Day’s fall outing at the resort. Saturday, November 2nd and 3rd is the Dapper Day Expo at the Disneyland Hotel. At the Expo, there is a wide selection of hand-picked vintage and classic contemporary clothing and accessories, including cosmetics, jewelry, eyewear, shoes, hats, and more. – https://www.micechat.com/239277-dapper-day-outfit-ideas-fall-edition/

The first snow has fallen even before Halloween this year! Sleeping Beauty Castle is currently in the process of transforming for the holiday season, which includes adding snow to it’s rooftops. The makeover will need to be completed by November 8th, when the holiday season officially starts at Disneyland. The rooftop coverings have been refreshed and repainted to match the new color scheme of the refurbished roof. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/18/first-look-sleeping-beauty-castle-at-disneyland-gets-first-snow-fall/#more-278806

If the snow is falling on Sleeping Beauty Castle, that means that it is a good time to add holiday merchandise to the shops! Note that the full selection of items has not been delivered yet, but there is still a lot to choose from. Ornaments featuring Mickey’s house from Toontown, the fire station on Main Street, and more are available. A wide selection of kitchen items, holiday decor, winter buttons, greeting cards, and more are also out now. – https://www.micechat.com/239638-holidays-collide-as-disneylands-first-winter-merchandise-begins-to-appear/

We talked about his a lot on our live streams this past weekend, but one of the most exciting things for theme parks fans coming with Disney+ on November 7th is a documentary about Walt Disney Imagineering called “The Imagineering Story.” Disney released a trailer online for this new show that not only gives a look into what Imagineering does and its history, but that viewers will be taken behind the scenes of attractions and even new attractions being developed. – https://twitter.com/disneyplus/status/1184861631261614080

The immersiveness of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge continues to erode with the latest change to come to the land. Over in Walt Disney World, food items in the land have started to move away from the themed names like “Fried Tip Yip” and to more easy to understand names like “Fried Chicken.” Our friends over at Fresh Baked Disney discussed this on their website stating that Disney should stick to their immersive theming and not cave to the vocal minority that couldn’t grasp the theming. – https://www.micechat.com/239737-disneyland-update-crowds-construction-christmas/ and https://www.freshbakeddisney.com/23711-2/

The Play Disney Parks app is continuing to add more digital achievements. Eleven new attractions or experiences were added into the app, including The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, Main Street Cinema, and a handful of Fantasyland attractions at Disneyland, and 4 new attractions at DCA, including Frozen – Live at the Hyperion. Depending on what you collect digitally, you unlock the ability to purchase physical pins as well. For more details on what attractions have been added and what pins you can get, check out the link in our show notes. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/10/new-play-disney-parks-app-digital-achievements-and-commemorative-trading-pins-available-at-disneyland-resort-and-walt-disney-world-resort/

Not only has the variety of Minnie ears increased, so has the price! Those interested in picking up a pair of the fashionable head-wear will have to shell out $2 more a pair, bringing the total to $29.99 before tax. Pricing around the resort is currently being updated to reflect the new pricing and replacing the tags that had the old $27.99 price listed. – https://insidethemagic.net/2019/10/minnie-mouse-ear-headbands-price-increase-ba1/

As we discussed last week in our discussion topic, the new FastPass kiosks have opened in Tomorrowland. The system seems to be very easy to use and extremely fast, not to mention, much better for the environment! The only noticeable downside seems to be the lack of a way to see your return time if you are not using the Disneyland mobile app. Otherwise, this is a great alternative to multiple FastPass distribution locations. – https://www.micechat.com/239737-disneyland-update-crowds-construction-christmas/

Tortilla Joe’s in Downtown Disney will be celebrating Dia de los Muertos October 31st through November 3rd from 11am to 11pm. There is a Prix Fixe menu option for $36 that includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. On November 2nd from 12pm-8pm, there will be tequila tasting, themed crafts and face painting for the kids. The Mariachi Divas will host a sing along from 4-9pm. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/10/20/fiesta-time-dia-de-los-muertos-celebration-is-coming-to-tortilla-jos-in-disneyland/#more-279309

A new way to eat cotton candy has appeared in DCA. After you watch the sneak peek of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, be sure to check out the cotton candy wand! This wand sparkles and glows and comes with your choice off watermelon or grape fluffy candy! – https://twitter.com/DisneylandToday/status/1185359920075628544/photo/1

To celebrate their 10 year anniversary of Disney inspired designs, Dooney and Bourke has re- released the “Disney Sketch” and “Mickey Balloons” designs! Both of these designs were originally released 10 years ago and are now available in all new color combos. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/09/26/celebrate-10-years-of-disney-inspired-dooney-and-bourke-bags-with-new-and-returning-prints/
