May 31st! That is the date which Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge will open to the public at Disneyland. If you want to wait and go to Disney World, it will open there at Hollywood Studios on August 29th. This week more concept art was released showing greater detail for some of the shops coming to Galaxy’s Edge. There isn’t a ton of new information, just a better idea of how these areas are going to be laid out. – https://www.micechat.com/219535-disneyland-update-clues-from-black-spire-outpost/
ABC7 was able to get some exclusive images of the new land. Some of the scenes that they show are of turrets, reminiscent of those the rebels used on Hoth in the Empire Strikes Back, how the petrified skyline will look like you are on a planet that goes on for miles, and a land speeder that looks a lot like Luke’s from A New Hope. As if Disney isn’t releasing enough information on Galaxy’s Edge, there will be a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago on Saturday, April 13th. If you were thinking of getting tickets to this event, it is too late as it is sold out. On Thursday, Disneyland held its most recent Disneyland After Dark event themed to 90’s night. The event looked like a TON of fun, and was one of the best themed after dark events so far. However, that doesn’t mean it went off without a hitch. There were long lines for character meet and greets, which chipped away at the limited time guests had for the event, making it impossible to see all the characters. – https://www.micechat.com/219535-disneyland-update-clues-from-black-spire-outpost/
Captain Marvel has had a couple of different meet and greet areas this week. First, there was a mural that she was in front of for photos, then they completed the more elaborate location that includes a hangar and plane. Speaking of Dumbo, the director of the new film, Tim Burton visited the parks over the weekend. A new 4th Edition Shipwreck Barrel was released at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar. The new mug is white with green accents and looks pretty cool. – https://twitter.com/laughing_place/status/1105206452694659072/photo/1
The new parking structure is nearing completion with canopies being installed on the escalators and the support structure for the planters that will be on the side of the new structure. Even the original structure is getting some updates with new colored pavers being installed at the base of the escalators to better show what level they go to. – https://www.micechat.com/219248-the-force-fueled-anticipation/
