News

After being closed for a year, Mickey’s Toontown has reopened at Disneyland. The refreshed land greeted guests as a soft opening on Saturday after a media event, and then officially opened on Sunday. The newly reopened section has some of the same features that guests really liked in the already opened section for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. There is a lot of grass, a new fountain for younger guests to play in, the dreaming tree, Goofy’s How to Play yard which is fun for all ages, and more! – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/03/mickeys-toontown-reopens-today-in-disneyland-park/https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/photos-video-full-daytime-tour-of-reimagined-mickeys-toontown-in-disneyland-park/

The atmosphere is great, but what about the new FOOD in Toontown? The Disney Food Blog ordered and tried everything in the new land and had some mixed results. For drinks, they liked the Picnic Time Watermelon Lemonade, with the Granny Goof’s Garden Sweet Tea was their least favorite. For actual food, their favorite was the Spring Garden Wrap, with their least favorite being Daisy’s Dressed-Up Dog. Overall, a good offering of food for younger guests. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/03/19/review-mickey-pizza-and-mini-donuts-disneys-newest-dining-spot-has-our-attention/

A new popcorn bucket has arrived at the El CapiTOON theater in Toontown. For $23, guests can pick this up at a Toontown popcorn cart. It is red and off-white with Hot! Fresh? Popcorn Yummy! written on the side. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/new-yummy-el-capitoon-theater-popcorn-bucket-arrives-in-reimagined-mickeys-toontown-at-disneyland/

An unexpected character is meeting and greeting guests in the newly reopened Toontown – Pete! Pete has been around in Disney animated cartoons since before Steamboat Willie, where he starred alongside Mickey Mouse himself as the captain of the steamboat that Mickey was working on. This is the first time Pete has been a meet and greet character in Toontown. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/photos-video-pete-appears-for-first-character-meet-and-greet-in-reimagined-mickeys-toontown/

One of our favorite attractions has returned from refurbishment! The Indiana Jones Adventure reopened last week with some much needed repairs and a couple of new surprises! First, the snake is back in operation, the projections used throughout are more vivid and sharp, and the boulder at the end is working again! In addition to this, there are a couple of updated scenes and effects before and where the old rat room scene was before the dart room near the end. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/breaking-imagineers-add-new-scenes-to-indiana-jones-adventure-at-disneyland/https://www.ocregister.com/2023/03/16/disneyland-cleans-every-skull-mummy-and-snake-in-indiana-jones-adventure-refurbishment/

Mickey’s Philharmagic has reopened in Disney California Adventure with some updates from its recent refurbishment. New upholstery was installed on the seats in the auditorium, and the carpet was replaced. There is also a new air conditioning system in the per-show room. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/mickeys-philharmagic-reopens-with-new-seating-hvac-at-disney-california-adventure/

San Fransokyo is just around the corner as the bridge leading to the area has reopened ahead of its transformation into the San Fransokyo bridge being complete. The existing structure has been painted “international orange” just like the Golden Gate Bridge in real life. The only thing remaining to be added is the towers and cabling to turn it into more of the suspension bridge look and feel from Big Hero 6. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/pacific-wharf-bridge-reopens-as-san-fransokyo-gate-transformation-continues-at-disney-california-adventure/

We had been worried that Star Wars Nite would not happen this year, which as we reported previously, is happening this year. Well, Disney did one better and is declaring May Star Wars month! The month kicks off with the return of Hyperspace Mountain, and Disneyland After Dark nights. Food and merchandise offerings will also be on hand for the celebration. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/disneyland-resort-to-celebrate-star-wars-month-this-may/

Weeklyteers who love a good day at the spa will be happy to hear that the Tenaya Stone Spa has expanded its offerings. New offerings include Sunrise Yoga at Disneyland, Yoga in Disney California Adventure, and more options. For a complete list, visit the link in our show notes. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/03/unwind-with-new-sunrise-yoga-and-spa-treatments-at-disneyland-resort/

Disney released a new video containing new concept art of the Villas at Disneyland Hotel. The video shows artist renderings and some rooms with families moving about to show off the design of the rooms and amenities. Overall, it looks pretty good! – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/photos-video-new-renderings-released-for-the-villas-at-disneyland-hotel

Easter is just around the corner and Disneyland has released their full list of Easter treats for the celebration. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/full-list-of-2023-easter-treats-at-disneyland-resort/https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/03/celebrate-spring-with-egg-cellent-disney-merchandise-and-offerings/https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/03/disney-eats-foodie-guide-easter-2023-disney-parks/

A Disney Parks super fan has completed a lofty goal. He has visited all 12 Disney theme parks around the world and rode every attraction at each in 12 days. Nathan Firesheets rode 216 rides at the 12 parks that were open when he was at each park. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/03/disney-park-globetrotter-successfully-rides-every-disney-ride-worldwide-in-twelve-consecutive-days/
