News:
Guests that have attended the Oogie Boogie Bash, including our very own Teresa, have reported that the party is a smash success. The highlight for many seems to be the Villains Grove with highly themed lighting and environment, or the World of Color: Villainous show on Paradise Bay. Reports online and our viewing have been mixed. It seems people either love the new show or think that it is lacking something. The DescenDANCE party, the returning Frightfully Fun Parade, treat trails, and character interactions have all received great reviews. – https://www.micechat.com/237070-first-look-at-the-new-oogie-boogies-halloween-bash/

After Halloween Screams ends its run, but before Believe in Holiday Magic starts for the holidays, Mickey’s Mix Magic will return from November 1st through November 7th. Pretty short run, but should bridge the gap in nightly fireworks. Believe is rumored to go to a projection only version on Mondays-Thursdays and with fireworks on Fridays through Sundays, like the other fireworks shows recently. – https://www.micechat.com/237398-disneyland-update-rocks-roll-halloween-gold/
The Main Street Electrical Parade will be “glowing away” again on September 30th, and Mickey’s Bandtastic Cavalcade will return until the Christmas Fantasy Parade premieres on November 8th. This should help with the higher crowd levels in the evenings. – https://www.micechat.com/237398-disneyland-update-rocks-roll-halloween-gold/
We have been talking about the changing live entertainment options at the resort all this summer. Now that fall has arrived and we are heading into the holiday season, Disneyland has announced some new entertainment coming to Frontierland. A new magician will be roaming around the land and on attractions like the Mark Twain showing off tricks and sleight of hand. Later this fall, a new dueling pianos show will premiere in the Golden Horseshoe, replacing Laughing Stock which ended its show there recently. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/09/new-entertainment-headed-to-frontierland-and-the-golden-horseshoe-at-disneyland-park/
The construction walls that were up in front of Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout have been pushed back and allowed the FastPass distribution area for the attraction to re-enter use. Along with the return of the FastPass area, the road sports a new brick pavement design that gives a preview of what Avengers Campus will be themed like. The new pavers are a dark gray and cream color, making a sort of barcode like design on the street. – https://www.micechat.com/237398-disneyland-update-rocks-roll-halloween-gold/

There is a new menu over at the Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s over at the Disneyland Hotel. Some of the new items include a Poke Bowl, a Hawaiian Platter, a new ramen dish, and more at the Tangaroa Terrace. Over at Trader Sam’s, you can also get the Poke bowl, or some Pork Gyoza. With the addition of the new items, the menu is a little healthier than before, and the items look very appetizing. – http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/09/21/whats-new-at-disneyland-resort-two-new-menus-delicious-funnel-cakes-and-everything-oogie-boogie/
This Spring, quick service and table service locations at the resort will be rolling out new plant based menu options. Some of the new items will be coming to Disney World first this October. The new items will be made from vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes, instead of meat, dairy, eggs, or honey. With the closing of the spa at the Grand Californian Hotel, many wondered if the resort would drop the “and spa” part of the name. This week, Disney announced that a new stone spa will be coming to the hotel. Tenaya Stone Spa will open in Spring 2020, and is inspired by nature and California heritage. Many services will be available from body treatments, to facials, to salon services. The name Tenaya can mean “to dream” in some indigenous cultures. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/09/new-tenaya-stone-spa-coming-to-disneys-grand-californian-hotel-spa-at-disneyland-resort/
