News:

Disneyland Forever fireworks returned to the resort this past weekend. The spectacular first debuted during the Diamond celebration. The show features both projections and of course pyrotechnics. There are multiple viewing areas for the show, including Main Street USA, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Rivers of America, and its a small world. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/06/from-street-to-sky-disneyland-forever-fireworks-returns-to-disneyland-park/

It is only a matter of time until the Emotional Whirlwind opens to guests. The artwork for the side of the different ride vehicles has been slowly appearing on the attraction this week. The construction wall around the area has also been pushed out to facilitate construction and finishing touches on the entrance area. The Pixar Pals parking structure is a flurry of activity leading up to the public opening of Galaxy’s Edge on June 24th. The new pedestrian walkway will be installed evenings between now to June 19th. Magic Way, the road that the bridge crosses over will be closed each night starting at 10pm or 1am and ending between 6am and 9am depending on the day. The Orange County Register reported on ways that Disney is trying to cut down on waits in Galaxy’s Edge. They have instituted a virtual standby system that requires guests to give their phone number and then when it is time to return for entry into the Cantina. At Savi’s Workshop, they have been handing out color coded cards with suggested return times. The last time we talked about the new bar coming to the Grand Californian was way back in December. Work is nearly complete and this new bar should be opening soon. There have been conflicting reports on what is going on in the area next to Award Wieners in the Hollywood Backlot at DCA. One report says it will be expanded seating for Award Wieners, and another report says that it is going to be the new facade of the Sunset Showcase Theater. A unique item to Galaxy’s Edge is the Star Wars “credit” card. The card is a gift card made of a heavier metal material and can be used anywhere a Disney gift card is accepted. June is Pride month and Disney is fully on board this year. The Rainbow Disney collection, which donates 10 percent of the proceeds to GLSEN, an organization that helps to create safe and inclusive environments for LGBTQ students in kindergarten through 12th grades. Almost any apparel or accessories that you can think of have rainbow Disneyland images and text. New Disney Parks Wishables can be found at the resort. The new collection was inspired by The Little Mermaid. Wishables are small cute plushes that can be found in foil mystery packs. The Little Mermaid collection includes Sebastion, Flounder, Scuttle, Ariel, and Ursula. A new bucket has been spotted in DCA, The Lion King Drum bucket! The bucket looks like an intricately carved, wooden drum and it features a large carving of a lion and one of a sunburst. New donuts are available at the resort! Over at the Jolly Holiday you can satisfy your sweet tooth with a seasonal doughnut featuring potato chips and chocolate! This is a regular long john doughnut, iced with chocolate, topped with potato chips and drizzled with chocolate and caramel! Over at White Water Snacks you can find Star Wars themed donuts.
