We know a land far, far, away is coming up on us at hyper speed, but the removal of the walls keeping guests out of Batuu is just more proof that it will be here before we know it. When you step into Oga’s Cantina for a drink, you will be able to purchase mugs themed to Endor or Porgs, according to guests and Cast Members that have experienced the land. The Endor mug is priced at $42, with the Porg mug coming in at $32. The pricing has been released on the new lightsabers that you can build when Savi’s Workshop opens in Batuu next week. The custom weapons of the Jedi (or Sith) will be $199.99 each, plus tax. The price includes a carrying case. If a lightsaber is too pricey, or just not your thing, you can also build a custom droid at the Droid Depot. The droids will start at $99, plus tax, and come in the BB-series or R-series, like R2-D2. The Orange County Register reported this week how some of the details were added to Galaxy’s Edge. They relay the tale of how the R2 tracks were made in the land by a construction worker on a plywood base being pulled across the concrete. This Friday, May 24th, is the re-opening of the centerpiece of Disneyland, Sleeping Beauty Castle! Although the tarps have been removed and all that stands in the way of guests walking through her gates is a construction wall, Imagineers are still working on the final details. Disney has officially announced an after hours event to celebrate the Haunted Mansions 50th anniversary! There will be two nights that you can celebrate with the happy haunts, Aug 7th and Aug 8th. The Disney Legends Awards Ceremony is just one of the exciting events at the D23 expo. This years legends were announced this past week. The 11 inductees are Wing Chao, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, Bette Midler, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Ming-Na Wen, and Hans Zimmer will all be honored for their remarkable contributions. Starting on May 31st, Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel will begin offering a Very Merry Unbirthday tea party. There will be three variations of the tea party ranging from the Classic Tea Party at $52 for adults that includes scones, sandwiches, desserts, and teas and herbal infusions. Or the Premium Tea Party $65 per adult, you get wine, salad, and a farewell truffle added to the menu. Kids cost $39 and includes the Classic Tea Party items, plus juices, milk, or hot chocolate. Starting May 25th, brunch will be offered from 8:30 to noon at the Lamplight Lounge in Disney California Adventure. The brunch will be available on Saturday’s and Sunday’s only at this point. Federal engineers are worried that the Prado Dam that is empty almost all year, except when there is heavy rain, could fail if water spilled over the top. If this happened, it is possible that Disneyland, along with much of Anaheim, could be flooded.
