News:
As we talked about on the last episode, beginning May 1st at all US parks, new guidelines will be in place for strollers. The new guideline limits stroller sizes to 31 inches wide, by 52 inches long. A lot of strollers sold currently fit into those dimensions, even double jogging strollers. Wagons have never been allowed, but there were some wagon/stroller hybrids that were allowed, but will not be starting May 1st. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/park-rules/ and https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/03/moms-panel-update-know-before-you-go-tips-for-your-next-park-visit/
Another wide-ranging policy change at Disneyland and Walt Disney World includes the removal of all smoking areas from the parks. Starting on May 1st, smoking, including vaping, will not be allowed in the parks. Designated smoking areas will be available outside of the parks for guest use. – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/park-rules/
A policy change that didn’t wait until May 1st was the removal of loose ice being allowed in the park. This includes inside of coolers that you are still allowed to bring. If you want to keep your items cool, you will need to bring reusable ice packs. You are also able to visit any quick service dining location for a free cup of ice. Again, this applies to Disney World as well. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/03/moms-panel-update-know-before-you-go-tips-for-your-next-park-visit/
Some changes are being made to the FastPass system at the resort. Most of the changes wont be too noticeable for guests but overall, they will help with the flow of the resort. The changes have to do with the volume and timing of passes. One change that some guests will notice has to deal with the courtesy passes issued to guests that are on an attraction that breaks down. These passes currently are sort of like a golden ticket, and you are allowed to use this pass for any attraction at the resort! Unfortunately this does have a negative impact on the major E ticket attractions. The solution Disney has come up with is to tier the attractions, so that when an attraction breaks down guests will be offered a choice of a few attractions. A date has not been announced yet as to when this change will be in effect. – https://www.micechat.com/220704-breaking-news-disneyland-star-wars-land-details/
Once the initial reservation system ends for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, a new system will be implemented to take its place. Starting June 24th, once you scan your ticket and enter Disneyland, you will be able to check in and reserve a spot in a virtual queue to enter the new land. This will prevent guests from having to wait in line outside of the land to enter and can enjoy the rest of the park while they wait for entrance. – http://blogmickey.com/2019/03/disneyland-will-implement-a-virtual-queue-for-guests-looking-to-visit-star-wars-galaxys-edge-after-june-23rd/
The new parking structure finally has a name, Pixar Pals Parking! The parking levels will be themed to some of your favorite Pixar films including Monsters Inc, Inside Out, Finding Nemo, and Coco. More than 5,000 parking spaces will be available in this new lot. Pixar Pals Parking is expected to open by the end of July. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/03/new-pixar-pals-parking-structure-and-more-enhancements-underway-at-disneyland-resort/

Well I’ve seen about everything but now I’ve seen an elephant sipper cup! To help celebrate the release of the live action Dumbo, a new sipper and popcorn bucket is available at the resort! The Casey Jr popcorn bucket and Dumbo sipper cup link together. – https://www.micechat.com/221123-disneyland-merchandise-update-you-can-fly-you-can-fly-you-can-fly/
In kind of a strange move, Mickey’s Philharmagic will be coming to the Sunset Showcase Theatre in Hollywood Land this month. The carry over from other Disney Parks will replace Muppet Vision 3D that was once in that space before it was taken over by movie previews. Mickey’s Philharmagic is a 3D movie that explores some of the most iconic Disney music with Donald Duck, and some special effects in the theatre. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/03/mickeys-philharmagic-premiering-in-april-at-disney-california-adventure-park/
In a move that some wonder why it hadn’t happened sooner, Disney has placed an outdoor vending cart near the tram boarding outside of the parking structures. You no longer have to wait to get into the parks to get a Disney treat. – https://twitter.com/davekoenig/status/1111792329570963457/photo/1
Adventure is out there! New Up inspired merch has been spotted at the resort. There is a new sky blue dress featuring Mr Fredrickson, his colorful home, and balloons as well as a new pair of matching ears! Both items have a little extra magic, on the ears an Ellie badge is the at the center of the bow and you can see both Mr Fredrickson and Russell on the dress. – https://www.micechat.com/221123-disneyland-merchandise-update-you-can-fly-you-can-fly-you-can-fly/
