News:
The past couple of weeks, we had been seeing reports that MagicBands were becoming more and more difficult to purchase at the Disneyland Resort. Officials have now confirmed that Disneyland is ending on-property sales of MagicBand˖ Existing interactive features, like Batuu Bounty Hunters, will remain functional for current owners, however no new shipments are expected once stock sells out at the few remaining retail locations. This change is exclusive to Disneyland Resort, as MagicBand+ will continue to be supported and sold at Walt Disney World, on Disney Cruise Line, and via the Disney Store online. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/magicband-plus-disneyland-phase-out/
Star Wars fans can now head to the Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney to create their own custom Galactic ID badges. For $15, fans can step into a specialized booth to choose their affiliation and have their photo printed on a unique, transparent plastic card that mimics the high-tech look from the films. The experience has become very popular! – https://www.micechat.com/435362-disneyland-hews-star-wars-land-awakens-vader-music-construction-more/
Disney has unveiled a “shriek peek” at its 2026 Halloween merchandise, featuring a massive collection of apparel, headwear, and home décor for the upcoming spooky season. Highlights include new “Create-Your-Own” headbands with mini plush characters, a Vampire Stitch plush, and a special collection inspired by the Haunted Mansion’s tightrope walker. Exclusive designs for Oogie Boogie Bash were also shared. – https://disneyparksblog.com/products/shriek-peek-at-disney-halloween-merchandise-materializing-this-year/
In celebration of “Disney Week of Wishes,” the Disneyland Resort hosted the “Wishes Assemble” event, officially recruiting nearly 40 wish kids and their families into the ranks of the Avengers. These young heroes enjoyed a private party at the resort with special appearances by Marvel stars Anthony Mackie and Paul Bettany, followed by a day of “heroic” activities within the park. This special celebration highlights Disney’s 45-year partnership with Make-A-Wish, focusing on creating life-changing memories for children with critical illnesses. – https://disneyparksblog.com/community-outreach/celebrating-disney-week-of-wishes-across-disney-experiences/
Former Disney CEO Bob Iger was recently honored with the inaugural WishMaker Lifetime Achievement Award during a special “Wishes Assemble” event at the Disneyland Resort. Presented by Make-A-Wish America, the award recognizes Iger’s massive impact on the organization, specifically overseeing the granting of more than 110,000 wishes during his tenure. – https://disneyparksblog.com/community-outreach/celebrating-disney-week-of-wishes-across-disney-experiences/
To celebrate May the 4th, Walt Disney Imagineering has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the technical innovation used to create the hologram of Tohan Lege for Disneyland’s “Shadows of Memory” show. Since true holograms don’t exist, Imagineers combined specialized projection tricks and visual effects to capture the authentic, flickering aesthetic of a Star Wars transmission. This “lore-weaver” character marks a significant narrative expansion for Galaxy’s Edge, anchoring the land’s story further into the Skywalker legacy. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/hologram-star-wars-shadows-of-memory/
