When the Main Street Electrical Parade returns, it will have a few new surprises! Since this will be the 50th anniversary of the parade, Disney Live Entertainment is adding some new elements. An all new, enchanted grand finale, celebrating the theme of togetherness, will be 118 feet in length, making it one of the longest and grandest units in the parade’s history. Making up the finale will be characters and scenes from Encanto, The Jungle Book, Raya and the Last Dragon, Aladdin, Coco, Mulan, Brave, The Princess and the Frog, and more. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/02/disneyland-resort-unveils-return-dates-for-nighttime-spectaculars-and-new-finale-coming-to-the-main-street-electrical-parade/

Presidents Day was celebrated in the United States on Monday, so of course our favorite eagle patriot had a message for guests! Sam Eagle spent the day at Disneyland, proclaiming it to be the Most Patriotic Place on Earth. With features such as Main Street, USA, the Rivers of America, and Great Moments with Mr.Lincoln, he may be correct. To check out his message to fans, check out the link in our show notes. – https://twitter.com/TheMuppets/status/1495805525707030530

The next time that you stroll through Downtown Disney, you may notice that demolition has begun on the west side of the shopping area. Construction equipment has moved in around the building that housed the old AMC theater and Earl of Sandwich location and has started knocking the building down. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/02/demolition-begins-at-west-side-of-downtown-disney-district/

Previously, we talked about the magnificent chak drawings in Downtown Disney. Disney posted a time lapse of the creation of one of the murals by Marcella Swett as part of Celebrate Soulfully. We encourage everyone listening to visit the link in our show notes to see this amazing creation take shape. – https://twitter.com/Disneyland/status/1495160472273928196

It wouldn’t be an episode of DLWeekly if we didn’t have a new set of ears to talk to you about. The Emporium at Disneyland has the new ears to celebrate 2022. The ears feature a shimmery blue bow in front of sequined ears, which look like confetti in shades of blue, white, yellow, and red. 2022 is embroidered on the side of the band in red, light blue, yellow, and dark blue. The ears are $29.99. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/02/18/photos-disneys-new-minnie-ears-were-worth-the-wait/

A new passion fruit treat has come to the resort this week. The Passion Fruit Mint Julep is available at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square. This version adds a hint of sweetness and fruit flavor the the classic Mint Julep. This is a great option for those who aren’t fans of the classic drink. Give it a try for $5.49. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/02/19/review-this-twist-on-a-classic-disneyland-drink-could-win-over-haters/

What doesn’t taste better with Oreo? A new churro for sale in Downtown Disney at California Churro Company aims to find if adding Oreo to the classic Disney treat is a hit. For $7.99, guests get a churro, cut in half and covered in Oreo crumbs and a cream cheese frosting. The Disney Food Blog said it was overwhelmingly dense, messy, and sort of bland. The cream cheese frosting was good, however. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/02/19/review-disneys-oreo-flavored-churro-surprised-us/

Going to Disneyland is a fun, happy experience to take you out of your day to day life. How about being able to live in a Imagineer designed community? Story Living by Disney was announced last week and promises vibrant neighborhoods, distinctly designed spaces, unique amenities, and Disney world-renowned service. The first of these will be built just outside of Palm Springs in the Coachella Valley and called Cotino, a Story Living by Disney Community. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2022/02/announcing-storyliving-by-disney-new-business-to-develop-residential-communities/
